Tommy Gate Lifts

The first Tommy lift hydraulic liftgate was born in Woodbine, Iowa in 1965. It was designed to move heavy loads to and from a pickup truck. Delbert ‘Bus’ Brown was responsible for making it all happen. the lift gate was named after his son “Tommy”.

Tommy Gate still resides in Woodbine after 40 years of dedication and thousands of trucks that carry the name. Tommy lifts are made in a newly expanded 150,000 square foot factory.
